Background

Given the unfolding socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 on the life of Maldivian families and children, UNICEF is keen to support the national partners with the mitigation of these effects and to ensure the sustainability of the developmental gains Maldives achieved over the years.

Purpose and Objectives

The overall objective of the assignment is to coordinate the production of audiovisual content by UNICEF to advocate for the mitigation of negative socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 on the different segments of the population with focus on children and the disadvantaged.

Major tasks of the assignment

  • In consultation with the program team and management, develop a costed, audiovisual content production plan (content such as 12 videos, internet-based shows, TV shows, radio shows, drama series),
  • Support all aspects of the audiovisual production including and not limited to concept design, copywriting, copy editing of captions/text on videos, liaising with TV/Radio station producers and overseeing the production of content together,
  • Identify potential audiovisual content producers for UNICEF to hire,
  • Prepare regular reports on the details of the products in development/developed with the program team and management.

Deliverables

  • A costed audiovisual content production plan (delivery within first week of assignment)
  • Bi-weekly progress reports focusing on all the inputs provided to major tasks of the assignment.

Duration of assignment: An initial two months, extendable depending on need and funding.

Duty station: Male' / Maldives

Qualifications or specialized knowledge and/or experience required:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in communication or a relevant study area.
  • Work experience: a minimum of 5 years of experience in audiovisual production for broadcast and internet media.
  • Languages: Proficiency in both English and Dhivehi, oral and written.
