About the role
Background
Strengthening logistics and delivery capacity vaccines across the supply chain in West and Central Asia
Conduct assessments of supply chain design, logistics planning, and quality assurance systems, including:
- Forecasting vaccine demand and projected supply at national and subnational levels
- Mapping key roles and responsibilities needed for vaccine and ancillary products deployment; collect and confirm contact information for key personnel and facilities
- Mapping the potential port(s) of entry, points of storage (stores), and fallback facilities in the country with their respective cold chain storage (2-8C, -20C, -60/70C) and transportation capacity for vaccines and ancillary products
- Assessing storage and cold chain capacity at all levels with regards to the vaccines characteristics and fill the identified supply and logistics gaps
Provide TA to meet demands and address challenges as they arise
- Placing logistics or supply chain experts in relevant ministries and/or organizations to ensure sufficient technical capacity to rapidly respond to emerging issues
Support enhancement of vaccine logistics systems including:
- Forecasting demand and quantifying needs
- Strengthening cold chain systems
- Strengthening systems to enable monitoring of vaccine supply chain from manufacturers to warehouse to delivery
- Establishing/strengthening the national logistics working group with appropriate terms of reference and standard operating procedures to coordinate vaccines and ancillary products deployment
- Updating vaccine stock management tools and operating procedures
- Establishing security arrangements to ensure the integrity of vaccines and ancillary products throughout the supply chain
Location - West and Central Asia
About you
Qualification - Master’s Degree in public health, health management, epidemiology, medicine, hospital management, health policy, health systems, or related field.
Experience:
Must have at least 10 years’ experience managing and supporting vaccine supply chains in Low and Middle Income Countries.
Experience to conduct gap analyses, provide guidance on how to strengthen vaccine supply chains, and produce regional best practice guidelines.
Experience to establish or strengthen systems of vaccine supply chain management to support real-time monitoring of vaccine supply and delivery.
