The USAID-funded Clean Cities, Blue Ocean project in CCBO Asia Operating Countries, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Maldives Liaisons Officer. This position will be located in Male, Maldives.
The role of the Maldives Liaisons Officer is to support and coordinate the CCBO operations in the Maldives under the supervision of the CCBO Sri Lanka-Maldives Country Director. As the CCBO representative, he/she would handle the logistic requirements, communicate with the identified stakeholders, maintain coordination efforts, and handles incident reporting. While CCBO Country Director remains the main point of contact, Maldives Liaisons Officer is the first contact within Maldives to the stakeholders. Her/his responsibilities include supporting CCBO work plan to be implemented in the Maldives. Maldives Liaisons Officer is the main point of contact for CCBO team to facilitate getting the requirements while visiting the Maldives.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee Maldives operation and report to Country Director
* Liaise with Maldives government to represent CCBO program
* Participate and support in Completion of CCBO Maldives Project Documents
* Support the development and/or strengthening of long-range SWMPs engagement sites
* Engage the private sector on 3Rs
* Information communication
* Engage youth and womens organizations
* Data collection, verification, and reporting
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree required in a relevant field such as international development, business development, business administration, economics, etc.
* At least 4 years of experience in a similar role preferably for international development and USAID.
* Ability to travel within Maldives up to 40% to 50% of the time.
* Advanced proficiency in speaking and writing in English.
* Experience in municipal solid waste management, ocean plastics, materials management, recycling services.
* Proven track record facilitating solutions to problems
* Excellent project and data management skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment, with occasional meetings to accommodate differing time zones.
